Valentine’s Day is coming up, and what better way is there to celebrate love than by whipping up these adorable stuffed fabric hearts!?
Ours are made out of our Confetti Dots group — we love polka dots and think they add a super-cute touch to this quick project. Give one to your Valentine along with a sweet handwritten note, or string together a bunch to make a garland.
Our friend Michelle Rosca made these hearts for us – read on for her instructions on how to make some for yourself!
Show someone you “heart” them with one of these quick and easy stuffed hearts. Leave these hearts on your work friend’s keyboard, your sweetie’s pillow, or even at a table setting.
With these beautiful assorted fabrics, a heart template, stuffing, scissors, thread to match, and a sewing machine, you will be able to make these hearts in no time!
Using your template, cut two heart pieces (front and back) from coordinating fabrics.
With right sides together, use a ¼” seam allowance and start sewing. Be sure to leave a 2” opening on one side of the heart.
Snip the fabric in the seam allowance every ½” or so, around all the curved edges of the heart.
Turn the heart right-side out through the opening in the stitching, and then fill the heart with stuffing. If you’d like, you can also add lavender!
With matching thread, whipstitch the opening and your heart is complete. Enjoy!
