QuiltCon Recap

Last Thursday was the kick-off to a brand new event – the first international modern quilt show, QuiltCon!

The show took place in Austin, TX, and we had so much fun seeing all of the beautiful quilts, including the Maasai Mara quilts made for the Dear Stella Fabric Challenge!

And now for the winners…

First Prize went to Melody Baker for “Dear Stella as Charm Squares Baby Quilt.” We loved getting to meet Melody – she is so sweet!

And here’s another view of the quilt. We loved Melody’s straight-line quilting – so crisp and precise!

Second Prize went to “Not Quite a Shadow” – made by Susan Shore and quilted by Jessica Sloan. Such a beautiful design!

Third Prize went to Lisa Holk for “A Modern Day Mystery.” We love the geometric aspect to this quilt, plus the beautiful layout.

Congratulations to the winners!

We really loved all of the Challenge quilts that appeared at the show, so we wanted to share them with you too! (Credits are above each quilt.)
